Armando Lopez-Bircann (ARLOBI) was raised in Dominican Republic and moved to USA after completing high-school. He packages his body in performative, wearable sculptures that reflect archetypes found throughout worldwide cultures and nature. These are activated with gestures, music and technology influenced by ceremonial formats seen in fashion, pop culture and the internet. He’s also taught and coordinated at the Corcoran’s ArtReach program ages 8-18.
He received his BFA from the Corcoran College of Art + Design. He is a member of queer collective Boys Be Good and co-founded the performance art platform Animals and Fire.
